Urban civil engineering teams have mobilized in Bishoftu to construct a comprehensive storm drainage network designed to permanently prevent perennial road waterlogging across central municipal streets.
The project features pre-cast and cast-in-situ concrete channels, deep catch basins, and reinforced outfall structures discharging into natural drainage courses.
Engineering Specifications:
- Channel Dimensions: 1.5m to 2.2m reinforced concrete covered trapezoidal drains.
- Pedestrian Integration: Cast concrete slab covers functioning as all-weather pedestrian sidewalks.
- Environmental Protection: Velocity reduction gabions and rip-rap stone pitching installed at discharge points to prevent soil erosion.
